Jan 08, 2018
24th ’young press’ press workshop at ITB Berlin in partnership with Messe Berlin – The deadline for ’young press’ applications is Friday, 16 February 2018
Up-and-coming journalists are currently invited to apply for the ’young press’ press workshop of the Thomas-Morus-Akademie Bensberg at ITB Berlin. From Monday, 5 to Saturday,10 March 2018 this six-day workshop will be offering young journalists with a focus on travel topics and tourism professionals keen on journalism an opportunity to take part in editorial activities at the show and report on a range of travel show topics, thus enabling them to gain or broaden their journalistic experience.
Under the supervision of professional travel journalists up to 15 hand-picked participants will be able to research new topics daily and compile articles or short films according to the rules of the profession. These young journalists will be reporting on trends and innovations in the tourism sector via their own blog at www.young-press.de, and on Facebook, Twitter and Snapchat. For the second time video clips will also be made for the ITB Social Media Newsroom. Thus the editorial offices will be supplying journalists and visitors at ITB with real-time information. This year the ’young press’ will again be providing a comprehensive introduction to travel journalism as well as on-the-job training.
Exhibitors from more than 180 countries and regions and over 130,000 trade visitors and newcomers from every part of the tourism industry will be presenting products and services from around the globe at ITB Berlin, the World’s Leading Travel Trade Show ®, and at the ITB Berlin Convention, the world’s largest travel industry think tank. That is why ITB Berlin provides an ideal opportunity for newcomers and young professionals to kickstart their careers.
Application procedure: Anyone interested between the ages of 18 and 28 can apply by submitting samples of their work and simply filling out the relevant form at www.young-press.de, www.tma-bensberg or by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org no later than Friday, 16 February 2018.
Ms. Anne-Katrin Kleinschmidt at the ’young-press’ editorial offices of the Thomas-Morus-Akademie, Overather Str. 51-53, 51429 Bergisch Gladbach, will gladly respond to any queries.
